MACKENZIE CASTLE RESTORATION – GENOA, ITALY
Subject: Concept and Detail Architecture design, construction management for artificial cave restoration
Mackenzie castle is an eclectic architecture, built in the early 1900s and rich in history.
The renewal of the complex has introduced a new function, an auction house, in addition to the museum use.
The underground artificial caves were a unique, but very damaged site.
Recent architectural and structural restoration allowed to bring them back to the ancient splendor.
Works have also involved the outdoor spaces.
